The PRA, part of the Bank of England, is the UK's prudential regulator for banks, building societies, credit unions, insurers and major investment firms.
What they do
The PRA sets capital, liquidity and governance requirements, supervises the safety and soundness of around 1,500 firms, and works alongside the FCA under the UK's 'twin peaks' model.
