Cellule de Renseignement Financier (CRF) is the Financial Intelligence Unit of Luxembourg that operates as the core body for the collection, analysis, and dissemination of information in fighting against money laundering, terrorist financing, and proliferation financing. The CRF operates under the administrative control of the General Public Prosecutor's judicial department. It plays an important role as a connection between the financial institutions and law enforcement bodies. The CRF handles suspicious transaction reports (STRs) received from banks and asset managers and converts the financial data into intelligence data for the identification of illegal networks. Apart from investigating within its national territory, the CRF operates internationally with the law enforcement bodies and FIUs around the globe through the Egmont Group. | |||||

The Commissariat aux Assurances (CAA) is the national regulatory body in charge of the insurance, reinsurance, and private pension fund industries only.
